It's not what, it's how

But what does it really mean?

I felt the impact of the words without understanding

their meaning. I was curious about how I could be so

affected by some words but not understand what they

meant. I remembered something Rumi wrote:

" Within the heart, there is a heart hidden

like a rider hidden in the dust".

( Please add your own story here of how I spent years

talking to teachers and reading many books and then

faced a breakthrough moment confronting moral terror

or . . . . . something like that ).

This is what the lady on the bus meant : "it's not what, it's how"

it's not the destination, it's the journey. . . . in fact, the journey

and the destination are the same.    Because of this,

"how" we do something is as important as "what" we do.

Big deal.

I was none the wiser.

The difference is all about technique

To eat a slice of bread is easy.

You just open your mouth and pop it in.

To find out what feelings are should be just as simple

you just look at them to see what they are.

Simple . . . . . . . . . .

It is amazing how something so simple

as 'just looking' . . . . . .can be so . . . . .

so . . . . . . . . . . .

so . . . . . . . . . . . .

so . . . . . . . . . .

elusive.

How we look at feelings is as important as

what we see . . . . . . . . . I had no technique to look at feelings
